dragon ball z la batalla

Hello everyone! Been MIA from the ‘ole blog for a few weeks because I was showing ModCloth around town! We took them on a little tour of Nashville via video (above) + photos (below) and a great time was had by all (my production team was amazing – local videographers Julia Huskey and Natalie Ashker were a dream to work with and so talented. They shot and edited the entire video). It was so hard to narrow our city gems down to 7 places, but it’s a nice taste of what we have to offer. If you’re planning a trip to Nashville, feel free to get in touch with me about more places to scope out! And, if you’re local, sign up for my NYLON newsletter on daily cool happenings in the city. XO

Confession: Imogene + Willie throw some of the best summer shindigs in town. You’ve heard me rant about them before and last night’s get together was up to par with all the others. The Ettes and Ultras S/C provided tunes, Mas Tacos dished the grub and The Peach Truck made sure you left with a bagged sweet treat. I love to wander into I+W with my camera because the store always seems to have a new piece or some sort of beautiful arrangement that I must photograph. I tell ya, true artists and taste makers over there.

Also wanted to quickly note how proud I am of all the national attention our city has been given via The New York Times and GQ. Everyone has their opinion on the pieces but at the end of the day we should celebrate the fact that we live is such a prosperous and downright cool place. Cheers to that!

Jessie Baylin

Photos from Jessie Baylin’s show last night at 3rd and Lindsley. From what I heard last night, her new album Little Spark (which comes out tomorrow) is going to be nothing short of amazing. It’s the best of alt-country on the surface but she clearly digs a little deeper, mixing western blues and 1970s singer-songwriter pop. Also snapped Patrick Carney of The Black Keys. He was a really kind fella for letting me take his photo.
